Kajli Soren (born 19 August 1950), also known as Jagannath Soren, is an Indian Santali-language poet and writer. He received the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2022 for his poetry collection Sabarnaka Balire Sanan’ Panjay.[1]
Early life
Kajli Soren was born in Bankura district of West Bengal, India. He developed an interest in literature at an early age and began writing poetry during his student years.[2]
Career
Over the years, he has authored Santali poetry collections and became recognised in Santali literary circles for his contributions.Some of his notable works include:[2]

Awards and recognition
In 2022, Kajli Soren received the Sahitya Akademi Award for his Santali poetry collection Sabarnaka Balire Sanan’ Panjay.[1][2]
The award is presented annually by Sahitya Akademi, India's National Academy of Letters, recognising outstanding literary works in Indian languages.[1]
Personal life
Soren worked for the Indian Oil Corporation and later retired from service. He continued his literary activities after retirement.[2]
