Dugai Tudu is an Indian Santali writer and poet known for his contributions to children's literature.[1] [2][3]He received the Sahitya Akademi Bal Sahitya Puraskar in 2024 for his Santali poetry collection Miru Arang.[4] The award is presented annually by the Sahitya Akademi, India's National Academy of Letters, to recognize outstanding works of children's literature in India's recognized languages.[5]

Literary career

Dugai Tudu gained wider recognition in the Santali literary community after his poetry collection Miru Arang was selected for the Sahitya Akademi Bal Sahitya Puraskar in 2024.[4][6][7]

The Sahitya Akademi announced the Bal Sahitya Puraskar and Yuva Puraskar winners for 2024 in June 2024, recognizing writers in 23 Indian languages for their contributions to children's literature.[8]

Recipients of the award receive an engraved copper plaque and a cash prize of ₹50,000.[9]
