Abul Hasnat Mohammad Tariq is a Major General of the Bangladesh Army. He is currently serving as Military Secretary to the Prime Minister.[1]
Military career
Tariq was commissioned in the 27th BMA Long Course in the Corps of Infantry.
He was promoted to the two-star rank on October 2024 as part of a wider re-shuffle.[2] Prior to his promotion, he was Directing Staff of the Armed Forces War Course at the National Defence College.[3] As major general, he was made GOC of the 33rd Infantry Division and Commander of Cumilla Area.[4] Later, he was transferred to the post of Commandant of the East Bengal Regimental Centre.[5]
He is known for serving as MSCA during the Yunus administration.[6]
